Doughy French Toast
French toast is just what a lazy weekend breakfast calls for – and the perfect alarm clock (no snoozin' here!). This recipe creates your traditional crispy-on-the-outside and doughy-in-the-middle texture; and we've dressed it with juicy strawberries, pomegranates and Golden Nut Butter, which is essential for that sweet coconut flavour and buttery texture. Enjoy!
Ingredients (serves two):
4 slices of bread
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp butter
50g pomegranate seeds
Substitute ingredients where necessary.
Whisk the egg, milk, sugar and cinnamon together until well blended.
Dip the slices of bread into the egg mixture, allowing them to soak on both sides.
In a large skillet, melt the butter on a medium-high heat. Add slices of bread and fry until brown, about 3 minutes on each side.
Transfer toast onto two serving plates and top with strawberries, pomegranate seeds, a large spoon of Golden Nut Butter - and finally drizzle with honey. Add a dollop of crème fraîche if you want to.
