Amaretto Hot Chocolate
This is honestly one of the best hot chocolate recipes we’ve created. It’s quick to make, combines sweet nutty flavours with rich cacao – and is the perfect Winter warmer. Plus, you can add a shot (or two) of amaretto to get in the festive mood. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
3 tsp raw cacao powder
1 tsp honey or sweetener of choice (add more or less depending on your sweet tooth).
250ml liquid – we recommend 100ml hot water and 150ml nut milk
1 tsp Perfect Nut Butter
Optional: 1 shot of Amaretto
Cinnamon stick or cloves to serve
Method 1:
Put the cacao powder, honey and nut butter into a mug. Add the hot water and stir thoroughly to make a thick chocolate sauce.
Heat up your milk on the hob or in a milk frother and slowly add it to the chocolate paste; stirring until the ingredients are well combined.
Method 2:
If you’re making this recipe on the hob, put the cacao powder, honey and nut butter in a saucepan.
Add your liquid and gently heat, stirring / whisking thoroughly to create a smooth consistency.
Method 3:
If you’re making the hot chocolate in a blender, simply blend the cacao, honey, nut butter and milk / water and before transferring it into a saucepan and heating.
If you want to feel festive and warm instead, add the optional shot of Amaretto once the hot chocolate is ready for a gorgeous sweet almond flavour. Serve with a cinnamon stick or cloves to release its spicy flavour.
